Ott Player is a media player only. It does not include, sell or provide any TV channels, films or other content. Users play only content they are entitled to, from sources they enter themselves.

Data we process

Device data: device identifier (MAC address or an identifier derived from it), TV model, software version, app version, IP address, date of first and last use. Purpose: activating the app licence on the TV, preventing abuse, technical support.
Access information: the type of access used and the account username or playlist host, shown to the licence provider only for support. Passwords and playlist links are stored only on the TV, encrypted.
Phone linking (QR code): the data typed on the phone are kept encrypted for at most 10 minutes and deleted as soon as they are delivered to the TV.
TV guide: if a playlist indicates a TV guide address, our server downloads that guide and sends to the TV only the programmes of the channel being watched.
Preferences, favourites and resume positions are stored only on the TV.

We do not use advertising, profiling or tracking, and we do not sell data. Legal basis: performance of the licence (art. 6.1.b GDPR) and legitimate interest in security (art. 6.1.f).

Retention

Device data: for the duration of the licence and up to 24 months after the last use. Security logs: 90 days.

Your rights

You can request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your data and object to processing by writing to newsmarters@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

Terms of use

The user is solely responsible for the content played and for having the rights to access it. The licence provider does not control third-party sources and is not responsible for them.
